Fire Drills

Fire Drills are conducted to places of public assembly like schools. It is one of the many ways to saving lives. BFP-10 is closely coordinating with the member government agencies like the police, the office of civil defense and the national red cross to conduct these drills to schools for no other purpose but keeping the place safe for the students and everybody in the premises. In the early start of the year 2010, Xavier University High School is a recipient of such a drill. Round the year, schools around the region will surely be given the same depending on schedules.
Although during the conduct of drills, we hate seeing few of the recipients who seemingly taking things for granted thinking perhaps that the exercise is not the real thing, but we will just continue doing the conduct for it is surely very useful in time. Evaluations were usually conducted after and lay down observations to master the plan in the event actual things may happen. Observations like, the participants do not walk as fast as in the actual event, the guidance of the floor marshal is rated poor, using the nearest exit by some of the participants is not followed and normally there is poor drill synchronization by the participants, but in the end, the conduct of the drill is generally fair. We practice to satisfy and get quality drill ratings (if not perfect) in the hope of saving lives if in the event calamity may come.
