Recruitment of the first quarter of 2010

Around fifty (50) applicants within the perimeter of Region-10 has submitted themselves into the recruitment processes for a slot of eighteen (18) Fire Officer-1 (FO1) quota. Per standard procedure, announcements of vacancies were made to all units, stations and offices for two weeks and folders of individuals aspiring to become firemen, came piling up in the regional admin office for the position.
Evaluation of their documents following with the initial Medical/Dental Examination and a character Background Investigation checks came rolling next before an applicant will be subjected to an Agility Testing wherein, blood pressures and medical history shall be a prerequisite. One has to be physically fit, for being a fireman requires a lot of physical demands. On top of that, series of interviews coupled with psychological tests is also a must for purposes of knowing the potential and personality traits of the applicant before jumping into the next step of the recruitment process.
The conduct of the tests flows into a development of screening only the required eighteen (18) quota where endorsement of the top qualified 18 will come next to the Personnel section of the BFP National Headquarters for the final Psychological/Neuro Psychiatric examination including Drug tests and other laboratory examinations before an applicant will go into the final deliberation. By then, approval of Board Resolution from the RPSB (Regional Placement and Selection Board) will come next before the processing of their appointments shall commence where Oath Taking will be the finishing line to the finishers. The final magic 18 will have their oath taking before March of Calendar Year 2010 year ends. The conduct of the recruitment is somehow a reply of manpower shortfall to answer service demands. |
